We started with a simple question: why is school transport still managed on paper and spreadsheets? Since 2018, we have been building software that makes school transport safe, transparent and affordable for operators, schools and parents worldwide.
In 2018, our founder Siddique Ahmed was working with school transport operators across Lahore and Karachi. What he saw was eye-opening: thousands of students being managed through handwritten registers, fee records kept in notebooks, and parents left completely in the dark about whether their child had boarded the van or reached school safely. Operators were losing money to uncollected fees, wasting hours on manual route planning, and struggling to keep drivers accountable without any tracking tools.
The problem was not a lack of effort. These operators cared deeply about the children in their care. They simply did not have the right tools. Enterprise fleet management software was priced for logistics giants, not for a van operator running 15 vehicles in Gulberg. There was nothing built specifically for the unique challenges of school transport: student-level tracking, parent communication, school coordination and fee management all in one place.
So we built RouteCabin. Starting as a simple attendance and fee tracker for a handful of operators in Lahore, it has grown into a comprehensive school transport management platform used in over 50 countries. Every feature we have added, from GPS tracking to WhatsApp parent alerts, has come from real conversations with real operators solving real problems on the ground.
