Every cookie we set, what it is for, and how to change your mind.
Nothing that is not strictly necessary runs until you say yes. If you ignore the banner, or close it without choosing, analytics and the chat widget stay switched off — silence is not consent.
These make the site work. They cannot be switched off, and they are not used to track you across other websites.
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| routecabin-session | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages | Until you close the browser, or 2 hours idle |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Stops another website from submitting forms as you | Same as the session |
| rc_consent | Remembers the choice you made below, so we stop asking. Stored in your browser, never sent to us | Until you clear your browser data |
These are loaded when you press Accept, and not before. If you decline, the scripts are never added to the page at all — this is not a setting that quietly leaves them running.
| Name | Set by | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics | Tells repeat visits apart from new ones | 2 years |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Keeps the state of your current visit | 2 years |
| Chat widget cookies | FOXAF | Remembers your conversation if you use the chat bubble, so you do not have to start again | Set by FOXAF; typically the length of the conversation |
We use Google Analytics 4, which does not log or store IP addresses. Inside the RouteCabin application we also strip record identifiers out of page addresses before they are reported, so a page path like /students/23/edit is measured as /students/:id/edit. Google never learns which record was open.
You can switch your choice at any time. It takes effect immediately; switching analytics off stops any further collection, and you can clear what is already stored by deleting cookies in your browser.
Checking your current choice…
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for a site. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will sign you out and break forms; blocking the rest costs you nothing here.
